Mount Olive Corona Virus Update and Operational Plan

Worship

Mount Olive will maintain a safe environment for in-person worship on Sundays. All guests and members will enter through the front entrance and take a temperature check before entering the sanctuary. We will follow city, state, and federal health guidance to prevent exposure to the virus.

Facilities

The Mount Olive Sanctuary and campus will be used for in-person events on Sundays. No auxiliary meetings will be held in our facilities unless reviewed and approved by the Pastor. Requests to hold in-person funerals and weddings will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Office

Mount Olive maintains limited office hours during the pandemic. Staff is currently working Tuesday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. We encourage you to call us if you have questions or need assistance at (512) 472-4332

A Message from Pastor Carter

God has provided an answer to our prayers regarding this pandemic. While the overall number of COVID-19 cases are decreasing in our city, state, and nation, we remain vigilant and we are not letting our guard down.

We trust in GOD and the medical professionals who feel confident that the COVID-19 vaccine and follow-up doses provide a high-level of protection against the COVID-19 virus and variants. I encourage you to check with your health-care provider for the best advice regarding your individual medical needs.

Proverbs 11:14 tells us that, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety”.
Your safety on the Mount Olive campus is our highest priority and we have followed CDC and City of Austin health guidelines on the best course of action for our congregation. Out of an abundance of caution and to demonstrate social responsibility, we have set up temperature monitors in our foyer as you enter the building. We have closed some rows in our sanctuary for social distancing and we encourage you to wear masks during worship services.

We will follow all necessary safety precautions on Sunday to help minimize the spread of Covid-19. For those of you who want to stay connected from the safety of home, we offer LIVESTEAMING at www.mtolivebcaustin.org, Facebook, and YouTube.

As we journey into 2022, we encourage you to continue the best practices we have employed during this entire pandemic:

  • Wear a mask.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home when you are sick, experience cold-like symptoms, fever or cough.

  • Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

  • And as you greet one another with a "Great Big Mount Olive Welcome" use a friendly wave or an elbow bump

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2 KJV)

Yours in Christ,
Pastor Richard E. Carter
